Tom Hill was elected chairman of the board for Vulcan Materials Company in December 2015, and president and chief executive officer in July 2014. Mr. Hill has been with Vulcan for more than 25 years, serving in a variety of operations and general management assignments of increasing responsibility since first joining the Company in 1979. Prior to being named CEO, Mr. Hill was executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Company, having previously served as senior vice president of Vulcan's South Region. Mr. Hill has also served as president of Vulcan's former Florida Rock Division, as well as the Company's Southwest Division.

Mr. Hill worked for Redlands Stone Products from 1990 to 1996 in sales and operations management, before rejoining Vulcan as vice president and general manager of the Company's Southwest Division.

Mr. Hill is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the Wharton School of Business, Executive Management Program.

Mary Andrews Carlisle is senior vice president and chief financial officer for Vulcan Materials Company. She joined Vulcan in May 2006 and has held various leadership roles within the Company’s accounting and finance departments. Prior to her current position, Ms. Carlisle was vice president of finance. She also served as vice president of financial planning, analysis and reporting, vice president of business development and vice president of finance for the Company’s Southern and Gulf Coast Division.

Ms. Carlisle earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Spanish from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Alabama.

Ms. Carlisle serves on the board of directors of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama.

Tom Baker is president for Vulcan Materials Company. Prior to his current position, Mr. Baker served as chief operating officer. He also served as senior vice president with management responsibility for the Mideast, Southeast, Southwest and Southern & Gulf Coast Divisions. Prior to serving as senior vice president, Mr. Baker was president and chief executive officer of Patriot Transportation Holding, Inc. and Florida Rock Properties. Mr. Baker also served as president of Vulcan’s Florida Rock Division from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Baker spent 24 years in various leadership capacities at Florida Rock Industries, Inc., before its acquisition by Vulcan in 2007.

Mr. Baker is a graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in History.

Ronnie Pruitt is chief operating officer for Vulcan Materials Company. All division presidents report directly to Mr. Pruitt. He previously served as senior vice president of the Southwest and Western Divisions. Mr. Pruitt joined Vulcan as part of the Company’s August 2021 acquisition of U.S. Concrete, Inc. Prior to his current position, he served as president and chief executive officer of U.S. Concrete. Mr. Pruitt joined U.S. Concrete in 2015 and held various leadership roles in the Company, including chief operating officer and senior vice president. 

Mr. Pruitt has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.

He has served as President of the Board of Directors of Cement Council of Texas and Chairman of the Paving Committee for the Portland Cement Association.

Stan Bass is chief strategy officer for Vulcan Materials Company. Mr. Bass has served in a variety of operations and general management assignments since first joining the Company in 1996. Prior to his current position, Mr. Bass was senior vice president of the West Region. He has also served as senior vice president of the Central Region and president of the Midsouth and Southwest Divisions.

Mr. Bass graduated from Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He also attended the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program.

Mr. Bass serves on the board of the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

Mr. Franklin joined Vulcan Materials Company in December 2019 as senior vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining Vulcan, Mr. Franklin was a partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Birmingham, Alabama. While at Bradley, he served as Vulcan's primary outside counsel for more than 20 years and advised other companies in the construction materials, building and engineering industries. He brings a wealth of experience from his years counseling companies large and small on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, securities issues, and overseas operations and acquisitions.

Mr. Franklin was recognized in Chambers USA in the area of Corporate/Commercial law and is listed in The Best lawyers of America® in the areas of Business Organizations, Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law, Corporate Compliance/Governance Law, Corporate Law, Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law, and Mergers & Acquisitions Law.

Mr. Franklin earned a bachelor’s degree from Birmingham-Southern College and received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.

He is past Chair of the Birmingham-Southern College Board of Trustees, a member of the Birmingham Rotary Club and Chair of Gateway, a nonprofit organization providing family and financial counseling and foster care services.

Darren Hicks is senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Vulcan Materials Company. Mr. Hicks has been with Vulcan for over 25 years, serving in a variety of leadership positions in human resource management since joining the Company in 1994. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of Human Resources and Talent Management. Mr. Hicks has also served as manager of human resources/safety & health, director of human resources, and vice president of human resources for Corporate and Southern & Gulf Coast Divisions. He also served as director of human resources for the Southwest Division based in San Antonio, Texas, before returning to Birmingham in 2011.

Mr. Hicks earned an MBA and bachelor of science in Human Resources Management from the University of Alabama.

David Clement is senior vice president of Operations Support and Procurement. Prior to his current position, Mr. Clement was senior vice president of the East and Southwest Divisions. He has also served as senior vice president of the Central, Mountain West and Western Divisions. Mr. Clement has 40 years of industry experience and over 30 years of service at Vulcan, in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. 

Mr. Clement is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and holds an MBA from Samford University.

Mr. Clement serves on the board of directors of the Tennessee Road Builders Association and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.

Jerry Perkins is senior vice president of Commercial Excellence, Business Development, Land and Logistics. Prior to his current position, Mr. Perkins was senior vice president of the Central and Southern & Gulf Coast Divisions. He also served as president of the Southern and Gulf Coast Division, general counsel and corporate secretary, and various other legal leadership roles for Vulcan Materials Company. Before joining Vulcan in 2002, Mr. Perkins worked as a certified public accountant (CPA) at a global accounting firm and was an attorney with Burr & Forman LLP in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mr. Perkins has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and received a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a senior editor of the Alabama Law Review.

Mr. Perkins serves on the board of directors of the Birmingham Zoo and Greater Alabama Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Todd Freeman joined Vulcan Materials Company in 2020 as vice president of internal audit. Prior to joining Vulcan, Mr. Freeman was chief audit executive for McDermott International, Inc. from 2002 to 2020. With nearly 30 years in internal audit, he has experience in leading high-performing teams conducting operational, financial, process improvement and other regulatory, fraud investigations and SOX reviews.

Mr. Freeman earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.

Mr. Freeman serves on the Advocacy Committee for the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Board of Governors for the Birmingham Chapter of Institute of Internal Auditors.

Janet Kavinoky is vice president, external affairs and corporate communications of Vulcan Materials Company. She is responsible for the community, governmental and regulatory affairs of the corporation, its corporate communications initiatives, as well as the company’s charitable giving and political action committee programs. Ms. Kavinoky previously served as vice president of federal and state governmental affairs. Before joining Vulcan in September 2015, she was executive director for transportation & infrastructure at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She was honored by the Journal of Commerce as one of the 10 “most influential people in transportation” in 2010. Ms. Kavinoky began her career at the U.S. Department of Transportation, ultimately serving as a special assistant to the Secretary of Transportation.

Ms. Kavinoky earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from the University of Wyoming and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In Alabama, Ms. Kavinoky serves on the boards of the Red Mountain Theatre Company, YouthServe, and the A+ Education Partnership. She also serves on the board of Infrastructure Week and the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues, and the advisory boards of the Eno Center for Transportation and George Mason University Center for Transportation Public-Private Partnership Policy.

Mr. McRae earned a master's degree in tax accounting from the University of Alabama and has a bachelor's degree from Samford University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. McRae is a member of the Samford University Accounting Advisory Board.

Randy Pigg is vice president and controller for Vulcan Materials Company. Mr. Pigg joined Vulcan in July 2005 and has held various leadership roles with the Company's accounting and finance departments. In his most recent role, Mr. Pigg served as Vulcan's vice president of accounting.

Mr. Pigg earned his master's degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Lindsay Sinor is assistant general counsel for Vulcan Materials Company and vice president of Vulcan Lands. Prior to joining Vulcan in 1992, Ms. Sinor was an attorney with Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ms. Sinor has a bachelor’s degree in art history from Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia and she received her law degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York, New York.

Ms. Sinor is a co-founder of Vulcan’s Women’s Leadership Council and now serves on the Steering Committee for the Vulcan Women’s Network.

Krzysztof Soltan joined Vulcan Materials Company in 2022 as chief information officer. Prior to his current position, Mr. Soltan served as the vice president of information technology and chief information officer for Johnson Controls, Inc.'s Building Solutions North America & Global Retail divisions. He has 26 years of systems engineering, business intelligence, data solutions, application integration, enterprise resource planning, and enterprise IT solutions experience. Mr. Soltan served in the United States Marine Corps from 1995 to 2001.

Mr. Soltan earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Central Connecticut State University and a master's degree in Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Soltan serves on the CIO Advisory Board for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.

Mark Warren, vice president, investor relations for Vulcan Materials Company. He joined Vulcan in 2000 as the manager of financial analysis and reporting and assumed his current role in 2006. In December 2015, Mr. Warren was voted among the Best IR Professionals in the 2016 All-American Executive Team Survey conducted by Institutional Investor. Prior to joining Vulcan, he held positions of increasing responsibility in both finance and operations in the construction industry.

Mr. Warren earned a bachelor of science in Construction Science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
